A more graphic and stylized interpretation within the Red Field study series, this work emphasizes clarity of form and controlled repetition. The curling wave is constructed through layered bands of ink, creating a rhythmic structure that contrasts with the more fluid and atmospheric handling seen in earlier studies.

The composition centers on a single, tightly coiled motion, where the wave folds inward on itself. This compression introduces a sense of contained energy, shifting the focus from expansive movement to formal precision and pattern.

Executed on a distinct rice paper, the surface subtly alters the behavior of ink and pigment, resulting in sharper edges and a more defined tonal separation. The red field operates as a stable ground, allowing the wave form to read with heightened contrast and graphic presence.

While related to ongoing investigations for larger panel works, this piece stands as a more resolved and stylized articulation within the series.
