Cherry blossoms & Swallows
Cherry blossoms & Swallows
Ink and acrylic on rice paper
Dimensions variable
Sold to private collection
A composition rooted in traditional Japanese visual language, this work brings together flowering branches and swallows in motion, balancing stillness and movement within a unified field. The blossoms introduce a sense of fragility and seasonal transition, while the birds create rhythm and directional flow across the surface.
Executed in ink with acrylic intervention, the piece reflects a long-standing engagement with symbolic imagery and disciplined line work. The handling of space allows each element to breathe, while subtle variations in mark-making and tone reinforce the presence of the artist’s hand.
While distinct from the current Discipline of the Infinite series, this work reflects an earlier and parallel investigation into structure, repetition, and the relationship between natural form and visual rhythm.
